Mitigate the risks of using SaaS applications

Cloud has made SaaS the default — but subscribers no longer hold a running copy of the software or direct control over their own data. EscrowTech's SaaS escrow restores that control with disaster-recovery-ready agreements built specifically for cloud-delivered software.

SaaS Escrow Overview

Peace of mind, built for cloud-delivered software

Cloud computing has ushered in Software as a Service as a viable and growing business solution — bringing efficiency, scalability, and recognized benefits. But SaaS subscribers no longer have direct access to a running copy of the software, and more importantly, they can lose access to their own customer data.

EscrowTech has created cost-effective, efficient solutions to streamline the timely availability of SaaS services. A SaaS escrow agreement protects all parties: if the vendor's solution is lost, mission-critical data can be transferred to the subscriber, and SaaS source code escrow ensures continuity of business and operations.

Why it matters

A trust signal for your buyers

Consenting to escrow for SaaS inspires confidence in users and stakeholders. Help reassure your SaaS subscribers that adopting your application is a safe choice — backed by a neutral, audited third party.

  • Source code, build instructions, and customer data covered
  • Streaming deposits keep the escrow continuously current
  • Optional live failover environment for rapid recovery
  • Trusted by Fortune 500 buyers since 1992
The SaaS risk profile

What you stand to lose without escrow

When the vendor controls the runtime and the data, subscribers carry hidden continuity risk. SaaS escrow neutralizes it.

Loss of access to critical SaaS services

Sudden outages, vendor failure, or contract disputes can leave your business without the tools it depends on.

Lost customer data

When a SaaS vendor disappears, so can your data — including records you're legally required to retain.

No direct access to the software

Subscribers no longer hold a running copy of the software, leaving continuity entirely in the vendor's hands.

How it works

How EscrowTech's SaaS escrow works

  1. 01

    Define the agreement

Configure parties, release events, and recovery objectives that match your SaaS deployment.

  2. 02

    Stream deposits

RealTimeVault automates source code, build instructions, and customer data deposits on a continuous schedule.

  3. 03

    Two-site secure storage

Materials are stored at redundant facilities including the Perpetual Storage Vault in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

  4. 04

    Test plan verification

Optional periodic verification confirms the SaaS application can be rebuilt and operated from escrow assets.

  5. 05

    Release & recover

On a defined trigger, materials — and where applicable a live environment — are released to the beneficiary.
